Design Your Custom Foam | Eylar® A place for every piece of gear Give every piece of gear a place of its own. With the custom foam designer from Eylar, you can plan your insert right in your browser. In this walkthrough, we'll use the Eylar desktop designer to build a camera travel layout, preview it in three D, and review it before ordering. 1 Choose your case Start with your case. Choose an Eylar model, look for another brand, or enter the inside dimensions of a custom blank. Measure the interior where the foam will sit, not the outside of the case. Here, we'll select the Medium twenty-inch Eylar case. Give your project a clear name, like Camera Travel Kit. 2 Start your layout You can begin with an empty insert, or use one of the example layouts. We'll choose Camera kit to get a starting arrangement. These example pockets are only a starting point. For your own design, match every cutout to the equipment you actually own, including the exact model and accessories attached to it. 3 Add your equipment Open the Gear Library and search for an item. Here, we're adding another compact wireless microphone. Check the model, dimensions, and available orientation before choosing Add to foam. Some items also offer finger notches for easier removal. Library outlines can be locked to their actual size, so verify the dimensions against your gear instead of stretching an outline to make it fit. 4 Arrange the cutouts Click a cutout to select it, then drag it into position. Use the rotation control or the rotation field to change its angle. The selected item's settings appear on the right. Leave enough foam between pockets and around the outside edge. If an adjustment doesn't work, Undo takes you back one step, so you can keep refining the layout. 5 Make an accessory pocket For loose accessories, add a basic shape. We'll choose a rounded rectangle and make this example pocket three inches wide by one and a half inches tall. Those are the pocket's dimensions across the foam. Label it Spare cables, then add a finger notch along an edge. Adjust these measurements to the actual accessories you plan to pack. 6 Check the fit in 3D Now check the foam layers and the Before you order list. This case uses a single two-inch layer; available options depend on your case. Resolve any overlap, edge, or spacing warnings. If your design has multiple layers, review each one. Switch to three D and rotate the preview to inspect the pockets. Always confirm your equipment's real dimensions and height; the preview is a layout aid. 7 Keep your design The designer autosaves your work in this browser. Keep the project name meaningful, especially if you're planning several inserts. As a guest, that saved work stays in this browser; sign in if you want to save designs to your account. The Share control is also available when you're ready to create a link for someone else to review. 8 Review before ordering When you're ready, choose Add to Cart. Review the items and total; this example contains the custom foam insert. Continue to the design approval screen, and check the preview and the custom-order notice carefully. Custom-cut foam is made to your approved layout and is final sale. Once you're satisfied, the final approval adds it to your cart, where you can continue to checkout. Build around your gear Choose your case, match your gear, refine the layout, and review before you order. That's your path from an empty case to a custom foam design.
