Search thousands of gear outlines by make and model. Draw shapes or scan an item with your camera, then move, rotate, and add finger notches.
Check the fit in 3D.
Review overlap, wall-thickness, and depth warnings. Choose your layers and verify every item’s dimensions before approving the layout.

Review the price and order foam alone or with a case. We CNC-cut your approved layout and ship in 7 business days.

Your approved layout becomes the CNC cutting file, at full size in millimetres. Solid closed-cell foam gives you smooth cavity walls, with no pre-scored pick-and-pluck cubes to tear out.

Not in the library? Draw a rectangle, rounded box, or circle and enter its size. Or use Scan an item: photograph it on a plain surface, provide a reference measurement, and refine the traced outline. Add finger notches, rotate items, and check the finished insert in 3D.

Talk to the foam team ↗How much does custom foam cost?
The designer shows your price as you build. Cost depends on the insert size and amount of foam used. There is no setup fee and no minimum order. Review the current price in the designer before ordering.
Do I need to buy a new case?
No. Choose the Eylar case you already own and its interior dimensions are filled in for you. You can also add a case when you order your foam if you need both.
How accurate is the custom foam cut?
We CNC-cut the layout you approve at full size, in millimetres. Gear-library outlines use published manufacturer dimensions, which you should verify against your own equipment. Check the width, height and depth of every item before ordering.
What if my item is not in the gear library?
Draw a rectangle, rounded box or circle and enter its dimensions. You can also use Scan an item to trace a photo, give the designer a reference measurement, or resize a library outline to match your gear.
How long does custom foam take to ship?
Custom foam ships in 7 business days from Pomona, California, with free US shipping. Production begins from the layout you approve.
Can I return custom-cut foam?
Custom-cut foam is made to order from your approved layout and is a final sale, with no returns, exchanges or refunds. If it arrives damaged or does not match the approved layout, email support@eylar.com within 7 days of delivery for a free re-cut.
Can I save a design and order it again?
Yes. The designer autosaves in your browser. Sign in to save designs to your account and reorder an insert. Use Share to open a design on another device or send it to a colleague.
What foam are the custom inserts cut from?
Solid closed-cell foam, CNC-cut from your approved layout. Unlike pick-and-pluck foam, it has no pre-scored cubes: the cutout walls are smooth. The designer supports 1-inch and 2-inch sheets with one or two cut layers, where your selected case allows them, plus convoluted lid foam.
Can I design foam for a case that is not an Eylar?
Yes. Choose Custom Size in the designer, enter the inside length, width and depth of your case base, and we cut the insert to those exact numbers. The case list also includes the Pelican and Apache models that share an Eylar interior. Custom-size foam is cut to the measurements you enter, so measure carefully: custom-cut foam is a final sale.
